Running Your Club workshops
NSW Sport and Recreation is pleased to announce the latest dates for the Running Your Club workshops. Please ensure you pass this information to your colleagues and friends if they have not attended this great workshop.
The next lot of workshops will be held in the following locations:
- Marrickville (26 August) – only a few positions available for tonight!
- Castle Hill (7 September) – Please refer to attached document for booking details
- Blacktown (22 September)
- Penrith (28 October)
NSW Sport and Recreation offers the opportunity to elected office bearers and other sporting club staff and members to attend this workshop that helps explain potential liabilities and effective risk management practices.
Some of the topics covered in the Running Your Club course are:
- Issues facing volunteers, especially in grass roots sports
- Who is responsible for running your club
- Club health check-up and planning
- Your governance and compliance obligations
- Introduction to governance
- Roles and responsibilities of club office bearers
- Your club constitution and regulations
- Incorporation and contemporary models
- Legal issues facing clubs
- Managing risk

The current cost of the Running Your Club course $20 (normally $30) includes the resource folder and new disk. Group requests are also available.
The courses have been very popular with all workshops thus far running at maximum capacity or close to, so please book into the workshops at your earliest chance.
