Weights & Safety
Weight Training for Gridiron
The League has received two emails from the AGCA’s National Coaching Director (Geoff Hiddleston) regarding player safety and weight training. They are replicated below and it is recommended clubs inform their members of the content.
The link below is an excellent internet resource for players (particularly juniors) who want to improve in the off-seasons but maybe haven’t got any real instruction/experience in the gym. Please pass on to anyone who might be interested.

Coaches/Administrators
The following internet link is to a video that I believe may be the single most important football educational resources produced. It deals with Traumatic Head Injury and was prepared by the National Athletic Trainers Association. It is 14:55 mins long and is worth your time to watch and learn.
I would like to recommend to GA, AGCA, AGOA, All State Associations and all clubs that this video be made mandatory viewing for all members (Coaches, Players, Officials and Administrators) during either our coaching development programs (ie level 0 or 1 course), Officials development programs or player orientation sessions at the beginning of club training programs.
Once you have viewed the video I think you will understand my recommendation. Ultimately I believe we should feature this link on our websites at the national, state and local club levels.
Regards
Geoff Hiddleston
